Type of Elections In Kenya
General Elections

Conducted after every five years, the following elections are held:

  1. Presidential elections
  2. Parliamentary Elections
  3. Civic Elections
By- Elections

These are held in constituencies and civic wards that have been declared vacant because of any of the following factors:-
  1. Death of an elected President, MP or councilor
  2. Resignation from office by an elected President, MP or councilor
  3. Nullification by a legitimate court of law of the election of a President, MP or councilor
