In order to ensure that you exercise your voting right on polling day, you need the following:
- YOUR new IIEC Elector’s Card and the new generation Identity Card (ID).
- ONLY those who have the new IIEC Elector’sYour Vote, Your Future Card and the new generation ID as it appears in the IIEC Voter Register will be allowed to vote;
In case you lose your NEW IIEC Elector’s Card, you will be issued with aduplicate card on any working day before the polling day i.e. 25th August 2009 In order to vote, you should present yourself in person.
You will ONLY be allowed to vote at the polling station where you were registered.
Note that election documents will be verified by IIEC Polling officers before voting
The following documents will NOT be allowed during voting -
- Old identity card and former ECK Elector’s Card – these are invalid and will NOT be used for voting;
- Use of another person’s Elector’s Card and/or ID.
- Photocopy of a voter’s card and/ or ID
NB: It is advised that you keep your Elector’s Card safely, preferably at home; you do not need to carry your Elector’s Card with you except on the polling day.
