Holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (FIEK) and is both a Registered and Licensed Consulting Engineer. Has Substantial experience in Public Service having served as Permanent Secretary for six (6) years in various Ministries. Served as Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Kenya for a Period of six (6) years where he was instrumental in the development of Code of Ethics for Civil Servants. Chaired the Presidential Special Action Committee on Concerns of the Muslim Community. He has also served as a member of the defunct Interim Independent Boundaries Review Commission.
