The Directorate of Research and Development coordinates research on the electoral process, electoral reforms, technology integration and operational support for the Commission.
The Directorate identifies key research areas and undertakes the planning and execution of the research activities, such as surveys, opinion polls, testing dynamics relating to various electoral concepts, commissioning research on electoral issues such as representation, participation, voter registration, gender and diversity concerns among others. The Directorate also develops and implements policies, procedures, systems for research, strategy, information management, library resources management archiving and disposals.
